I ask; Where has that fear gone?
lets take a look at the top ten
1 have no other gods before Me
2 do not make or worship any idols
3 do not misuse the name of God
4 remember the Sabbath and keep it holy
5 honor mom and dad
6 do not kill people
7 do not commit adultery
8 do not steal
9 do not lie
10 do not covet
Now i ask again where has our fear gone?
We live in a country where it is socially acceptable to break every single 1 of these commands.
the first 2, I think we are all guilty of breaking sometimes. BUT just because all of us do it, does not make it right.
Misusing Gods name.. I think we all have a way of doing that as well, Not by swearing, but by not living up to God's standards. if I claim to be a Christian, but am ashamed to tell people about it, or we live like everyone else, instead of separating ourselves from sin, Are we not misusing God?
And do we really set aside a WHOLE day for God??? i know i don't. i am lucky to set aside a couple of hours. I need to do better.
Honor parents, easily explained
Now for the next 5, is where I think our society is falling apart....
people are actually glamorized for breaking them.
abortion is acceptable to over 50% of the population according to polls,
over 50% of marriages end in divorce, most of the time several commands end up being broken during the process.
And i think almost all of our country has been caught up in the "they have it, I want it too" epidemic. Is that not coveting?
Let's just set aside the whole "if i follow after God, i go to heaven, if not i don't" for a second.
Anytime a person, then a group of people, and then the entire society starts breaking these commands, really bad things end up happening to them. Case in point, Sodom, Gomorrah, The Egyptian empire, Babylon, The Roman empire... All of these cities, or countries did not follow God, and where are they now? yes some are still around, but they are not the power they once were.
Is our country next???
sorry got to end kids are needing to be put in bed.

I've never really thought of some of the Commandments like that, for instance, number 3.
